Completely Perfect

I am in love with this sweater that I saw on Pinterest and Ravelry. The sweater pattern is titled "Antler" and uses Madelinetosh Merino Light yarn. Fingering Weight. Pattern is available in both English and German. Locally, Madelinetosh is available at Have Ewe Any Wool in Snyder. This may be my favorite knitting sweater project that I've ever come across. Just stunning in texture as well as color. It's completely perfect! Happy Knitting! xo

Lightness

I taught a knitting class last night and was explaining how many outstanding patterns are available online at no charge. This scarf is a beautiful example of just that. Available on Ravelry, it is titled Lighter Than Perfume. Lace weight... it requires about 700 yards of yarn. Happy Knitting! xo

Impossibly Cold

Well, there's a  -20 degree wind chill. Again. Buying more firewood is on the top of my to do list (also, again). So...it's a good evening for reading and I was looking at New York Times Reviews. The Impossible Lives Of Greta Wells.  This novel simply looks  amazing. It's my next up book to get to. Keep Warm! xoxo

Love this! Don't know a photo source but it's beautiful.....

Inspiring

I came across these beautiful mittens on Pinterest. The artist, Krentu, is on Ravelry although I currntly do not see these mittens listed in her shop. All of her knitting is amazing and she also has a blog posted as well. Her photography is just breathtaking. Peek at her on Ravelry....you may find a pattern you simply adore. I found these mittens to be so inspiring.....

There's a wind chill here of 30 below zero tonight. Keep Warm & Happy Knitting. xo

Something Found

I was very much in search of a new book. I loved The Perfume Collector and was sad to see it end. But thanks to a teacher at my daughters school...I have found a great new novel to start. Her recommendation was amazing...I'm starting The Lost Wife this evening!

Though I'm purchasing it on my Kindle, I love this book cover....

But this cover is great as well....

Saw these winter white fingerless gloves on Pinterest. Such a perfect, simple design...love them!

Cashmere Gloves

I think I'm completely addicted to the color grey right now. I love these 6 ply cashmere gloves. Perfect fingerless gloves for guys...great smokey color and super soft. I seldom see fingerless gloves that are so simple in design and masculine....you can take a peek at the other colors these come in right here.

I love this table that I saw on Pinterest. From the Etsy shop CanalSideStudio, it's a perfect blend of warmth and rustic.... Happy weekend! xo

Weekend Storm

The weather is forecast to get blustery here tomorrow making for a stormy weekend ahead. I am in the mood for new yarn and I love this pattern I just found on Ravelry. By Ester Puente, this cowl is so lovely! There is a $5.00 charge for this pattern but it looks like a great project idea. I would love to do this in a soft yarn with a bit of cashmere or angora and maybe a bit of sheen. Keep warm & happy knitting! xo

Shades of Grey

I love grey for scarves and cowls...they are the ideal neutral. They look amazing with black, navy, chocolate brown or layered with more grey. I couldn't find an artist credit for the following cowl but I love it....completely perfect for a chilly, windy day.

Came across this amazing Icelandic wool on Etsy in the shop PeterPaulandLarry. Processed in Kansas, this bulky grey yarn looks so soft...

This yarn is created in Germany....available on Etsy in the shop DyeForYarn. Amazing steel color and brilliant luster! Happy Knitting...xo

An Amazing Book

I'm completely addicted to The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro. This historical fiction novel takes place between London and Paris in the 1920's and mid 1950's. In part, it chronicles perfumist Madame Zed and the mystery behind her. I am such a perfume person...I cannot go a day without wearing it. (My current favorite is Tocca's Margaux.) This novel is so engaging right from page one. Hugely recommend if you are looking for a good read for book club!

Margaux by Tocca...warm, spicy..ideal for cold days...

"My Sin" by the perfume house Lanvin. Famously created by Madame Zed.

Burst of color

There's an Etsy shop that I recently stumbled across that I am completely taken with. ZandZKnits offers amazing scarves and cowls...drapey, chunky...all perfectly cozy. This orange is my absolute favorite. Love this color against chocolate brown...

Winter White

Winter is one of my favorite times of year. I love the blustery snow, cozy fires and a soft, perfectly drapey sweater. And scarves.....I love the simplicity of a creamy white scarf. It's the ideal winter item. I love the look of this cowl scarf that I saw on Etsy.

I could wear this cowl every day....from a luxurious Etsy shop with so many cozy treasures!

Long & wrappy....I just love these tones & textures....

Weekend Luxuries

I haven't posted to my blog in quite a bit and I thought this long weekend would be the ideal opportunity to get back to writing. The New Year for me has happily been filled with lots of reading, snowy (sub-zero) days and knitting! I love this time of year as all the lists of the best books come out. 2013 had so many wonderful new novels. Topping my list to read next is The Goldfinch. I am such a huge Donna Tartt fan since first reading The Secret History. The Goldfinch is on every best book list around....I just can't wait.

I'm currently reading The Perfume Collector for book club. Great, great novel. I've never read anything by Kathleen Tessaro before....her writing pulls you in from the very first page. Ideal book club selection!

I've been in search of new yarns and love this hand-spun merino, alpaca & silk blend I found on Etsy. I never tire of hand-spuns....the colors are so unique, luxurious and rich. This red is perfect for winter....created by Rambling Rose Yarns ....great shop to take a peek at! Happy Knitting! xo
